Buildmode Aerial · London, Ontario

Drone site documentation for contractors who need proof, not pretty pictures.

Orthomosaic progress maps, stockpile volumes, cut/fill tracking and as-built documentation — delivered as a report your PM can forward to the client. Plus FPV flythroughs when you want the work to look as good as it is.

Built by a licensed tradesman — 30 years on jobsites, tools then the business side. Not on Twitter.

Two things a jobsite needs from the air

Measurements your PM can bill against, and footage your client can share. Most jobs use both. All prices CAD, flat fee, no hourly.

Track A — Document & Measure

Data your project manager can act on.
Monthly recurring

Progress Documentation

Weekly or monthly orthomosaic capture with timeline comparison. Branded PDF progress report with annotations, plus a shareable interactive map link for the owner, the PM and the client.

$400–$600 per capture
Quarterly / monthly

Stockpile Volume Survey

Drone capture, then volumes computed from a photogrammetric surface model. Branded report with tonnage estimates and comparison against your previous surveys — flown the same pattern and altitude every visit, so the change between them is what you can act on.

$350–$550 per site visit
One-time

Pre-Bid Site Survey

Existing conditions before you price the job. Orthomosaic plus basic topo, access routes, drainage and utility visibility. Bid off measured ground instead of a windshield survey.

$500–$800 per site
Per capture

Earthworks Cut/Fill Tracking

Regular capture through grading and excavation. Cut/fill volumes measured against the design surface, so over-excavation gets caught while it's still cheap to fix.

$450–$700 per capture
One-time

As-Built Documentation

Final site condition captured for closeout, warranty or handover. The record of what was actually built, on the day it was finished.

$500–$750 per site
Per inspection

Asset & Roof Inspection

Sheltered operations under the Advanced certificate — close-in flight around structures. High-resolution imagery of roofs, drainage and hard-to-reach assets, delivered as an annotated findings report.

$400–$700 per inspection

Track B — Show & Sell

Footage for marketing, recruiting and investor updates.
The Flyby · Add-on or standalone

FPV Jobsite Flythrough

One site, one flight, one sharp clip. A 30–60 second cinematic FPV flythrough of completed work, fully edited, your logo and colours, music licensed and cleared. Vertical cut included for social.

$850 founding rate · $1,250 once regular booking opens
Monthly, bundled

Progress Video Update

A 60–90 second monthly cut showing how the site has evolved. Graphics, music, branded. Built for investor updates, internal reporting and marketing that doesn't look like a phone video.

$600–$900 per video

Bundle: Mapping + Flythrough

Combine any Track A mapping service with an FPV flythrough. Built for project closeout — documented proof and marketing content out of the same site visit.

15% off when bundled

How a capture actually runs

You don't touch any of it. Flight planning, airspace clearance and the site survey are handled before the truck arrives.

01

Flight planning

Airspace review and clearance. The Advanced certificate covers controlled airspace, so a nearby airport isn't a blocker.

02

On-site capture

20–40 minutes on an automated grid pattern. Site sign-in, PPE, and a written hazard assessment before the first launch.

03

Processing

Raw imagery becomes an orthomosaic and elevation model. Volumes, annotations and timeline comparisons built from it.

04

Deliverable

Branded PDF report plus a shareable interactive map link. In your inbox within 48 hours.

▸ Booking founding clients now

Advanced RPAS certification is done. Insurance is the last box — no drone goes in the air for money until it's locked.

20 minutes on your site. Full orthomosaic map and a sample report delivered within 48 hours. No commitment, no invoice.

If it doesn't save your PM time or give you something worth sending to your client, you owe nothing and I'll stop emailing you.

First clients lock in founding rates and set the template for how these reports get built.

▸ Got it.
You'll get a reply with a couple of dates that work. If your site has airspace restrictions I'll sort the clearance before I confirm.

Skyway: A Construction Story

A Canadian construction story, told through the people building it. A documentary short for Skyway Canada. Updated as the project moves, so you can see the process, not just the finished cut.

Rough footage posts here as it's shot.

Who's flying

Caleb Maudsley — licensed carpenter, 30 years on jobsites: tools first, then the management and business side. Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Operations Certificate.

Which means the person reading your site isn't a photographer who learned what a footing is last week. Progress maps get annotated in language a PM can forward without translating, and the flight plan accounts for the crane swing radius because I've worked under one.

Buildmode Aerial is the drone services arm of Build Mode Digital Inc. — the same company behind buildmode.ca and truckandtablet.ca, which build tools for tradespeople and contractors.
